I believe I saw a thread... Or it could be in a magazine... A guy transformed his 335i into M3, but kept the engine. It looked very good...

Just use good judgement what ever you do and realize...one day you'll want to sell it. Would you get more reselling a nice used M3 or a 335 convesion? Market is probably super slim the conversions. M3 market is ALWAYS hot!! |

OP if you are interested, search for e90post member creaminz, he did the whole 335 to m3 conversion, but with all the money he spent, he coulda just bought a m3 and possibly supercharged it, definitely not an easy or cheap transformation, hope that helps
In the end of the day, no matter how fast u make a 335, it will never feel like our beloved m3s, make the switch and never look back

Just like what others here have mentioned, just save up and purchase a certified pre-owned m3. The '08 and 09's are getting cheaper nowadays.
A 335 to M3 conversion is fine as well, but that would be a lot more expensive. Quoting OMMMG,

OK so I was at the dealership today to drop my car for its scheduled service and while waiting for the loaner I was looking around and they had on display the 2012 335i xDrive Coupe like my car but newer ofcourse .
It had the side skirts on as standard that is exactly what i wanted. So it seems if I buy a 2012 335ix I will get that so my question to anyone who attempted it. 1. Can I buy the side skirt of a 2012 335ix coupe and would they fit on my 2009 335ix coupe. I asked the parts guy at the dealer he told me he doesnt know and to get back with him later.......... 2. Also are the headlights interchangable from a 2012 to a 2009 or that requires major transformation for the bumper, etc. This is a curiosity question

1. Yes, the sideskirt will fit. You probably saw the coupe with the M-sport package. You can get the M-sport side skirts for your car. It is not the same as the M3 side skirt. Here it is: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...catalogid=4462 2. No, the headlight is not changeable. You would need a new bumper, new hood and re-programming the lighting module to go with it. The shape and fitment is totally different than the older headlight. |

Personally, I think a 2012 or 2013 E92 coupe (not M) is a bad buy right now. New model will be out soon! Why pay $$$$ for a car that is functionally identical to yours, that has just a few better cosmetics, when the F32 will be better all-around, and about the same price? |
