M3 Current Discounts

I saw the 0.9% deal, but I also wanted to see what some of the newer members paid for their vehicle? I'm seriously in the market for the coupe, but certainly wouldn't want to overpay. Everyone's help is greatly appreciated

How much off msrp currently and if you could also include the city / state. Thanks!

I think 0.9 excludes M3s.

2008 BMW M3's with 6 speeds are stacking up due to the economy and gas prices. BMW M3's with DCT's are in short supply and are selling at a premium.

Worth it to wait for the 2009 M3 with next gen iDrive. Unless you need a really really good deal on a 2008 M3 and don't mind a 6 speed. It is a buyers market for 2008's. Back up to MRSP for 2009 unless you are lucky. If you are in SF, Cali you will pay...

Cheers,

thanks for the correction guys - the 0.9% does not work with the M3. I'm looking at getting a manual and have decided to go with AW. I've called around and getting $1k off. What are the California guys paying? Looks like you're getting a great deal over there Kingtut

Calls Steven's Creek of BMW and talk to Paul Carruba. Tell him Chris sent you. I guarantee they will give you a great deal. And their customer service is top notch. They came through for me when I had an issue.

Cheers,
I think that the rationale about why the 6MT do not sell cannot hold true if you only mention economy and gas prices....because that is about the same for the DCT model (except that the 6MT is actually cheaper)....no, it just raises questions such as:
Are the people buying a DCT because:
1) they are really interested in the new technology and believe that it has an edge over the 6MT?
or 2) if they had to compromise with their significant other so that they can both drive the car?
or 3) the number of people capable of driving a 6MT is decreasing?
or ... ?

in any case, this trend marks just a change in behavior, which is NOT bad, just a fact.

Let me say one thing, I was told by a friend of mine, a GM at another dealership, that even if you get a BMW for invoice, that there is under lying money that can go as much as another 7 percent so even at invoice don't let the dealer shit you, their still making plenty of money.

What ever invoice is when it comes out, that's what I am paying.

I will post the invoice as soon as the dealer sends me an invoice that did not have the price blocked. The prices are still blocked for the 09's

I have said many times on this crack pipe that the new prices will not be out for about two more weeks!

if anybody wants I will email you a copy of the invoice when I get it.

#1 was my main interest, it is a cool toy, and i wanted the advantage for track days and felt safer with it at a drag strip.

#2 was just a side benefit, though the wife can drive a manual, she is always nervous she is going to break it...

wow, the variance is quite significant from one state to another! I'm originally from Irvine, CA and have purchased cars from South Bay with great experience from their management....I'm hoping to find the same from a dealer in the Bay Area. I'm getting pretty close to a purchase, so fingers crossed if they would accept what I'm asking - $3k off

In my case:
#1 - True
#2 - Very True
#3 - I don't think so.

Gotta believe he said invoice because he meant invoice. I could be wrong, but I've seen at least one other person claim the same. To me its just the realities of the current economy. Some dealership, somewhere is desperate to move cars, even BMW dealerships.

yes Captain SCott, you are right. I used to work as a CA for a Ford Dealership. A lot of times, Ford realizes that certain vehicles are not moving well, they put out a memo that the company will increase profitability to the dealer (back-end of the deal). Sometimes, it is a 1000, sometimes it is 1500. It all depends on the model. Given the M3 in this situation, BMW realized that the economy is taking a beating on these cars, plus the rising cost of fuel, plus people are broke; thus, BMW must've put out some type of memo to increased profitability to the dealer, and generate more sales.

Maybe, but remember you guys are talking Ford and GM. I am not saying BMW does not have factory incentives, just that there's no evidence yet that that is the case. An M3 sold at invoice could just be to get the car off the lot so the dealer can get out from under the finance charge. Not saying you are wrong, I am just saying its possible that the dealer really did let the car go with basically zero profit.

Captain, I'm in the market, and if I could get a nicely option sedan with DCT @ invoice I'd be ordering immediately. If you could help with this feel free to PM me with any info. I'm not sure where the dealership is that you purchased from, but I'd do a Performance Center delivery, since they PCD is within a days driving distance from me.

Thanks
Pierre
