23 when i got my e92 m3....

a friend of mine called the m3 an old man car because that's all he ever saw driving them...then i took him on some twisties and changed his outlook.

i did the whole 335is vs m3 debate....it turned into what i saw less of - 335i's are everywhere in nj....the m3 not some much.

26 here. I also owned a 335. both amazing cars, but the M is better than the 335 in literally every way except for fuel efficiency.

I'm 26 and my M3 arrives a few weeks after I turn 27. If you can afford the car, go for it! Before the M, I had a S2000 at 21.

So glad you love your M.

Went from an 06' 330i to an 08' 335i, now an 11' M3 - a perfect progression!
The M is an amazing car plain and simple. What does age matter, as long as you can afford it

I didn't know that, I figured the leather etc. was the same. Are they built in an entirely different facility as well?

Much older than all you pups.

A V-8 makes sounds a 6 or 4 cylinder will never replicate.

For me, there is no need for a radio in this car. It will never surpass the magnificent engine sounds.

I'm 39. Went from a 2003 Dinan Stage 2 M5 to an E46 Competition M3 and now I have a 2011 E92 Competition on order that I get from PCD on 11/29. The M5 was an incredible machine but the E46 was soooo much more fun to drive. The New M3 is the best of both worlds. V8 and fast as hell but a blast to throw around. Like others have said, M is a whole different ballgame. I have driven the 335 and its boring as hell once you have had a taste of the real thing.

It seems like everyone ends up trading in the 335.

Are the m cars made in a diff factory?

I was always under the impression that the suspension, engine, breaks were diff but that's it.

is the leather a higher quality do the m cars get a diff treatment overall ?

Most of the car is made in a different factory, if I recall correctly. Also, less than 30% of the parts from the 3-series are shared with the M. The only panels that are the same on the exterior are the doors, windows and trunk (except for the lip spoiler on the M). mechanically, it's a completely different drivetrain. engine, transmission, differential (M has the limited slip!), suspension, brakes, wheels, etc. are all different.

also, in addition to having MUCH better seats, the leather is a lot nicer. the M's novillo leather is a lot softer and smoother than the nappa leather found in the 3-series.

you have to drive each to fully understand.

age

The BMW M line is another word for penile extension. I love picking on modded import rice burners and domestic corn fed cars out there. I've had my car going 3 months and the euphoric feeling of owning driving it everyday have yet to subside. My wife completely hates my car. One I refuse to let her drive it and two I spend more time on the car than I spend on her. Oh, I just turned 40 but still act like a 16 year old.

If you got the money get the m3 because maintenance and gas. 335 is good for gas mileage and if someone cant handle a v8.

Yup.
Penile extension for me. 50 year old mid-life crisis car. The only people who buy these cars are young guys who can't get a date and old guys that can't get it up. I've been both.

So my recommendation to you is to buy a Ford Fusion and let your swinging dick do the talking.

My question to you guys is how old are you m3 owners.

I drove this car and fell in love other than the quickness why would you have your m vs a 335
42 y/o

Test drove both, and the M3 felt like a supercar compared to the 335.

I am 32. Third M3 and still in love with the brand.

It does not matter how old you are, I will buy a fast car even when I am 80 The difference will be if I can get in and out of one.
