2011.5 E90 Question

This is aimed at fellow forum members who purchased an E90 post September build for 2011 (2011.5).

Did anyone receive fully electric seats or were you like me, and got them semi-manual with electric buttons for the lumbar support?

Any input would be appreciated since the online build tool on bmw.ca is still indicating fully electric seats for 2011. In advance, thanks.

Now you have me worried! Canadian build should still be full power....

EDIT: I just wrote my CA to inquire. I'd be pissed if I received an $85k car with manual seats that wasn't a track specific GT3 etc...

Seriously??? You got the US Spec manual seats? WTF??? I'll sure be pissed if mines come with manual seats. I'm with ns2000x... Now I'm worried too for my Nov2010 build E90 M3!!!

Have you taken any action with your dealer yet? Do you have any avenues for recourse? Complimentary swap to full power seats?

The currently online brochure indicates full power seats:

I know that my dealer ordered a e90 as well when my e92 came in. It had manual seats, but they ordered power seat...

^^^Just great.

There isn't even an option in the online configurator to differentiate manual and power seats. The only option is the power adjustable seat widths within the premium package (or as an $1100 single line item), but that's supposed to be just for the seat width. Maybe this toggles the build option between manual and power?

Just curious fastrack, who's your dealer? BMW Kelowna?

I shall be your West Coast counterpart! LOL

I'm hoping my line item order for adjustable seat widths (@$1100) is going to save my ass - literally AND figuratively.

OP, did you order the premium pack? Or just adjustable seat widths? Or neither? How about you ns2000x?

I agree that a swap will be the first thing I demand from BMW Canada if they bait and switch me like this.

Chowster, if your car is a November build you must be expecting it in the next couple of weeks. Please let me know how your car arrives.

I'd much rather have this argument with BMW before I'm standing in the Welt looking in my car for the first time with nothing on my mind but anger.

ED too?!? That would ruin my entire German vacation! I'm sure there would be one hell of an echo in the Welt delivery area when you flame the delivery specalist with some choice Canadian words! When are you taking your ED?

I'm expecting the car to be in the dealership by next week, with delivery on the 23/24th, or on the 31st (after I get back from a short vacation).

Neither. I ordered the Audiophile and PDC from within the Executive package but not the side bolster option.

I got just about everything else (m drive, m DCT, audio, PDC, fox leather, competition package 7MA <- paid a $400 special order fee, $$$$)

Mine will be SSII, Black leather, M Drive, DCT, EDC, 220Ms, PDC, Adjustable seat width - why not go all out unless you're tracking it.

Nice work on the comp package.... jealous! You're not afraid of bottoming out in Ottawa snow with the 10mm drop?

I'll be using gunmetal Alufelgen CS7 19s for my winter setup to attempt a comp style look.

I asked for the week of March 8th (second week without snow tires in Germany), but haven't had my production date confirmed yet.

I would still have time to adjust my order to some secret config, but I made a deal based on an advertised specification and this is a major departure.

Keep us posted on what your CA has to say. Perhaps a copy of the build specs once you have a production number assigned would be helpful instead of just going by his word. Then you could correspond directly with BMW Canada as well to ensure a smooth ED.

Nice configuration, I agree with specing up an M3, after all isn't that what makes it just a great do-everything car?

I'm taking recourse now. I already spoke to my CA who told me the manual seats were now standard on all 2011+ M3 sedans (???????). I'm not buying that so I am taking it further. For everyone else waiting for their production builds etc, make sure you get the seat specs clearly clarified and in writing.

My ordering info on our online guide still says power seats are standard on an E90 M3.It is updated everyday but that would not be the 1st time that there has been a suprise when the car arrives. It happens with all manufactors as I just had a 2011 F150 arrive for a client and it has different wheels than shown in our order guide. The good thing is that the substituded wheels are much nicer!

This is really souring me on the whole M3 buying experience!
Good luck having this ridiculous scenario rectified.

What ordering guide are you referring to? Who do I get access to said ordering guide?

I know you placed an order for another M3 (with DCT this time) what stage are you currently at in the order?

Cheers

Autodata Solutions who also do our Ford online ordering info and we update this daily. The master licence is $750 per year and $100 additional per extra station. It is not perfect but is a very good tool for the wholesale leasing business.
My new car is February production which will be end of March.I will be suprised if I do not have any suprises as there are a couple of special order changes on the car!

This was his response today on email (I called him, but wasn't able to get a hold of him this morning):

"Reference the power seats, they are standard on the Canadian model."

Not a lot of detail that comforts me, but an email I'll file away, as I keep an eye on the builds.
