Looks pretty nice IMO. Anodizing would be cool as well and is super durable. The OEM part is actually clear anodized. You can get a different amount of gloss with a different grades of steel wool before anodize or with a different amount of acid etch (can be done by anodizer). I think it would look pretty cool anodized. You could do other colors as well with anodize.

You might want to give it a textured finish with something like bumper paint or SEM texture paint. It will match better with the plastic console trim and give it some nice grip. Good idea though.

Yeah I was thinking about that. I did it overnight and threw it back in...later when I have more time ill experiment with different textures.

Cool I never thought about doing anything with the knob until right now, I'm going to play around tonight and paint my Idrive knob matte black and we'll see how it turns out.

I'll post pics, if I don't like it, I'll just buy another one on ebay. They only run for about $100

Pull it out lol....just grab it and pull it out lol. When you put it back on, make sure you line up the + shape on the knob with the + shape on the console and push it in until u hear it click into place.

When it's completely dry, no. Besides just get a cloth when you are cleaning your interior and it'll shine right back. I was going to paint an outline of the ///m in red but that woulda looked hella tacky.
