High pitched unlocking beep at altitude?
I was on a mountain today in my M3 at around 5000ft and noticed when I lock and unlock the car the beep seems to be high pitched and coming from the rear left tire. My friend with his M3 was also there and had the same high pitched sound when locking/unlocking. As soon as I drove down the mountain the sound returned to normal. I am very curious as to how the sound changes pitch and where its coming from just from high elevation. Any ideas?

I was wondering the same thing.. but mine didn't happen at high altitude.
In my area, it gets scorching hot so after leaving the M in the sun for a few hours I come back to that same sound. Weird.

You might be right, it might have not been the altitude. The sound came on just after we did a hard run up and down the mountain. Interesting..
