U.S. DoT laws say something along the lines that orange reflective material has to be built into the structure of the car in some way, whether it's on the bumper or built into the turn signal housing, which we saw on the 06 and 07 E60 M5.

Not to mention the 04-07 E60/E61 5 series and 06-08 E90/E91 3 series . I suspect that the 09 E90/E91 3 series refresh will also move the relectors to the bumper.
