Full AP exhaust, stock tune NO CEL

Hey guys I just recently purchased the full agency power exhaust from Jordan at Defined USA. I bought the mid pipes which have no cats or resonators and paired it with the AP rear section with titanium tips. (SUPER LOUD). I was told by agency power if I bought their O2 extenders that I won't get a check engine light. Well they were very wrong the O2 extenders actually threw my car into a limp mode. I couldn't go passed 10mph or rev past 2k. What a terrible day that was. So luckily I had spoke to Tom at European Auto Source about getting the akrapovic check r delete, I thought this might solve the issue. But he told me to remove the extenders asap and clear the codes. And without even seeing the car he knew this was the issue. I was very impressed. My only question now is why isn't my check engine light on? I have no cats or resonators and the computer thinks everything is normal? I do plan on buying a tune just not yet I'm still in college and working on a budget. Any ideas guys? Thanks for your help.

How long has it been since you removed them? If you drive it a bit more the light should come back on.

Light should come on after 32mi of driving if no secondary cats are present.

Your o2 sensors are basically displaying a "not ready" status to the ecu, as soon as the drive cycle completes you'll get a code.

If running stock software, it'll be back.

Not sure, the delete-r was never intended to pass smog tests.

We'll be checking a couple of recent installs as soon as they clock up some miles to see if the readiness tests pass as well as other checks.

So is the delete -r just a way to essentially "disable" or "turn off" the CEL even if it's supposed to be on? So essentially, it won't fool the software at the inspection station into "believing your car is smog ready" it just disables the CEL even tho when they go to perform a sniffer test, you will most likely fail???

I'm just trying to understand myself....

It's got nothing to do with driving the car hard, in fact, that will actually prolong the time before the CEL triggers. Drive 3-5 miles at 20-40 mph. Drive 10 miles between 60 and 80 mph. Don't exceed 3000 rpm. No hard fluctuations in throttle in-between. You’ll get the CEL if your sensors are working properly. You shouldn't use extenders, and normally they wont work. The best way to correct the problem is turning off the cat efficiency checking in the software. The Delete-R is a tool which clears the cat efficiency code periodically so the light is not set. You will not pass emissions because the readiness codes will not be set (clearing the codes restarts all of the tests again).

The more erraticly you drive, the more times you will restart certain cat checking routines which set the readiness codes. Your car hasn't set those codes because it hasn't completed all of the cycles. I hope this helps.

Not sure why extenders caused an issue here, but the fabspeed ones work perfectly with their HFC exhaust. Not aware of any negative effects of using them either.

Technically anything past the pre cat o2's should not cause an issue.

But if there is some sort of exhaust leak at the post cat o2's due to the extenders, that could cause issues.

Hope this clears that up. When I say it's not good to use extenders, I mean that it's better to just turn off the rear 02 checking in the code. Sometimes the extenders will squeeze by, but I can almost bet you that youll get a cat efficiency error at some point during the life of the car, even with them installed. It might take thousands and thousands of miles especially with the extenders in place.

Thanks for clarifying. Concur that it is not 100% and I probably will get it again. Although I've gone something like 6k miles I think now without issue. But every car is slightly different and so is each exhaust.

I think the fabspeeds + extenders are a nice option for people that don't want to mess with the software. But if you are going to change the programing anyway, then no reason no to disable the DTCs for the cat inefficiency.
