V1 not powering up while in cigarette adaptor

Any ideas why my V1 isn't powering up when plugged into the front cigarette adaptor?

Powers on fine using the rear cigarette adaptor, but no go using the front?

Time to take her into BMW for service?

Nah, check your fuse for the cig. lighter....here's a thread that hopefully will help you:

Also check the fuse in the V1 power adapter (you have to turn the end and then pull it open). The V1 is picky when it comes to power -- you need a good contact with power and ground. Try putting the power adapter into the lighter socket at a different angle. Just some ideas here. Hope that helps.

Mines pretty sensitive to how I insert it into the cigarette lighter socket. I normally give it a little twist while pressing down on it.

A little rubbing alcohol to clean out the socket and it works fine...

What mode do you guys keep the V1 in most of the time?

I was using "A" in the city, driving by the Sheriff's department lit up with 5 bogeys in all directions.

I guess Logic or Advanced Logic would be most suited to a highway situation, maybe "A" in the city...

Want to hear what modes you prefer and use...

The other way around. 'A' mode on the highway and 'l' or 'L' in the city. I leave mine in 'A' all the time, but then most of my driving is on the highway. I've also shut X-band off.

I'm also 'A' all the time. I spend most of my time in rural areas, so I don't need the filtering.
