Volk or Advan?
Decided I wanted to go with a forged monoblock Japanese wheel.
Who makes the best quality wheel (rigidity, weight, sizing, fitment, etc.) (not considering price)? Volk? Advan? Another company? I know BBS forges their monoblocks in Japan, but I wanted to be different from the BBS crowd. |

Most Volks/Rays wheels are forged, but not all Advan wheels are forged.
So just take that into account if you want a forged wheel.

I've been researching. Looks like all Volks are forged. Four Advans are forged: RZ-DF, RS-DF, GT and F7. And Rays forges wheels for Advan.
I guess it would come down to style and, I hate to say it, name recognition and street/industry cred. |

They seem to be linked together in some way. I was at the VOLK stand at Bimerfest yesterday and they also had Advan wheels there too.

Both Volk and Advan make great wheels. For me it comes down to your desired look and fitment. I use the Advan TC3 because it looks great and is available in 10.5 et25 which allows for the use of a 295/35/18 tire. I also ran the Volk G25 for a while in 19" for the same reason (et25 available). A 295 won't fit with any offset lower than et25 on 10.5" wheel.
