Today my BMW says it's awaiting transportation . . To those who have tracked the progress of their cars before, about how long will it be before my car arrives at the dealer?

it is much faster than you think... if you are tracking your car on BMWUSA.com, then it is lagging way behind real scedule... tracking on line is not good referrence... I had my M3 delivered and already was driving for 2 weeks, but online "track my bmw" was saying "it's in transit"... The most accurate way to track progress on your own, would be toll free phone number...

but as it's been mentioned above, there lots of posts and threads about it...

Atleast where is your car awaiting transport? In Germany from factory to port, or at the port awaiting ship, or here in US from port to dealer? If your car is here at a local port, it could take literally 1 to 2 days for your dealer to have it

Waiting for this car to arrive has been killing me . . Are you getting yours from lifequality BMW as well?

Same here. I made a small spreadsheet with ships leaving in the next few weeeks to the East Coast. I hope my car is on one of them.....

Yes, my CA let me know when the car was on a ship, the name of the ship and the shipping company along with expected arrival date at the port here in the US... They may not proactively send it to you but if you ask, they have access to the information.

Mine still sitting at the port. I think there's a huge snow storm in Europe. Perhaps that's causing delays?

The way it works when its at the port is there is a line of cars ahead of you that are also waiting to be shipped. Depending how many cars are in front of you, the wait may be 1 week all the way to 2 or 3 weeks. Mine took exactly 7 days to go from Awaiting transport to en-route. I am picking up my car this week so it will be 5 weeks on Saturday that I have placed my order. According to everyone else on the forum this is exceptionally fast, so its all just going to depend on how lucky you get!

My Delivery:

Nov. 6th - On Order
Nov. 9th - Awaiting Production
Nov. 16th - Waiting Transport
Nov. 23rd - En route
Dec. 3rd - At preparation center
Dec. 5th - At your bmw center

Wow, yes that is indeed exceptionally fast. Mine was on order Nov 9th and Scheduled for production on Nov 20th and awaiting transport on Nov 28th. I should have ordered 3 days sooner!! LOL.

Wow, just as I submitted the msg above I got the shipping vessel info from my local dealer. They are just too awesome. If you guys want an awesome dealer to work in the NYC area PM me.

Life Quality BMW in Brooklyn. Same dealer I bought my E46 M3 years ago. Manhattan BMW rarely cuts any deals. I hope you got yours at or close to invoice as that's the going rate.
