'09 Sedan - Help

After doing some tiny research, I came across a very nice Red '09 Sedan. - The car is loaded to my specifications with 5k miles and it is also DCT.

The car is priced at a little bit over $56,000.
And I also wanted to add that the car is a "Factory Demo."

What does that mean exactly?

i got my 2011 coupe for $64,000 OTD, so yea 56,000 for an 09 sedan seem a bit high

i assume demo mean the car on the showroom or they car they use for test drive

Garage List
Tell them you'll do it for $49,900 and they have a deal.

Demo means they've beat the shit out of it for 5,000 miles most likely.

I've seen what they do to demos

I just called the dealer, and he said an executive drove it for 5,000 miles.

I checked Carfax..it seemed all good. I hope the car wasn't beat too much :/

Also, did 2009's have any DCT problems?

Don't know the market value of these cars in the US but unless this price is way below what you could pick up a CPO customer car for then i would pass on it.
Demo cars will have been driven by lots of different people on test drives, if you had 30 mins in an M3 how would you drive it? ....would you wait 15 mins for the engine to reach operating temp before taking it to the redline?

No, because its not your car so who cares.

So my friend went to BMW where they rolled a completely brand new (straight out the factory assembly line) to a dyno and ran it up through all the gears. It didn't explode.. You guys make it sound like the cars today are still built in the 70s. Just get in and drive.

they wont explode immediately. proper break-in period is to ensure that the engine lasts 200, 300k miles etc. You will never know the ramifications of improper break-in until you get up there in mileage.
