I believe you can still turn it off with through the settings from the steering wheel if you don't have iDrive.

I am always curious why some folks don't like them and turn them off. Obviously it's a personal choice, but just wondering.

Anyone care to chime in as this discussion proceeds? OP?

Besides shortening bulb life? If they were brighter so you could actually see them so they could say it was a safety related item and be believable I'd leave them on but they're barely visible during the day.

Wow thank you so much. I kinda feel silly now that I didn't remember that. Lol.
To answer your question about why anyone would want to disable their angel lights or daytime running lights is this:
I installed red angel eyes and when I see the cops I'm gonna wanna disable those bad boys quick. Lol

^ I think those are going to turn out to be more trouble than they're worth if you honestly plan to turn them off every time you see a cop. First off, there's no guarantee you'll spot the cop -- and be able to get those lights off -- before he spots you and sees those AEs. And even if you do spot the cop first, I don't think the iDrive shortcut capabilities allow you to map to an option very close to the DRL checkbox, so you'll still be doing a fair amount of clicking and scrolling to get to that option even after you spot the cop. And of course watching the iDrive display and doing a lot of clicking and scrolling when you're slightly panicked because "Oh snap there's a cop there!" is totally safe.

I say either take them off or don't bother trying to hide them from every cop you see and accept any consequences that result from that decision (like having no front plate in most states). Otherwise you'll just end up stressing out all the time and possibly in an accident. Just my .02.

Red lights belong on the rear of the car, not the front.

yeah, I remember. Good luck on your shirt order, hopefully they're not out of stock, I think I bought the last medium size in their inventory and they have at least one large size left. I think they also have XLs left, though I'm not sure if Belgians are generally XLs....lol

This depends,..of MADE IN.......???
My ///M poloshirt is made in Germany, and the sizes are realy big..you now Germans....so this was XL.
So you asked me about Belgians...i'm 1,90m,tall an i weigh 95 kg.
In US measures....6.23 ft tall and 209.43 lb pounds and most of the time i'm XL or XXL,depends made in,and the model.
So...mdosu, now you now it already...about one Belgian.
BTW....i now you....you are the man with the sense of humor, and is that you in your avatar ??? lol

Red lights on the front of your car?!

Imagine how many people are going to freak out when they come around a corner and see that?

Someone might try to get "behind" you, when actually they get immediately in your path of travel. You'll be in for a big surprise -- but look cool, yeah, really cool.
