Not yet... January. But I'm still interviewing hot women to occupy the passenger seat so it may not get driven until I find a suitable pair... I mean person

Its funny cause when I recently went with my friend to pick up his 2011 GT-R the guy at the dealer drove a brand new Stingray. He said he drove the GT-R around all day and only had dudes talk to him. Drive around in the Stingray for 10 mins and you have chicks staring you down. Called the GT-R a cock magnet lol.
I agree with gthal. If amazing sound and hot blondes hitting on you is the downside to the Vette you can sign me up. |

I believe it will still be called a Z06. The model designation does not follow the chassis generation.

Well, I'm actually in a little different boat. I don't own either yet. I love the C7; but it is a dream for me at the most. The C7 doesn't even come close to the practicality of the M3. I love the performance and comradery there is with corvette owners. I miss that. However, my corvette days (C5 and LS2 C6) are long gone now with two little rug rats. The C7 isn't even on my radar. I'm a child at heart; I love drifting the back end around corners and full throttle accelerations. For me though the M3 is the extremely clear winner for me. Plus I see far less M3's of any generation than I do C7's already. I've already seen three C7's inside a month. I know that isn't a lot but I only see maybe one M3 every three months; maybe. Furthermore, give it some time; C7 corvettes will be as common place as C6's are now. You'll be seeing one or two every ten minutes.

It would certainly be worth waiting for imo. Especially for Z cars. Can you imagine a ZR1 with a DCT...that is just bad @$$.

And on top of that, the chassis is way more pure (do NOT read easy to drive) and it is so freaking fast. Foot to the floor coming to redline is an absolute experience. I would take fast vettes all day everyday over ANY BMW, however I would not argue anyone that disagrees as long as they don't discredit what the vette is. It's not for everyone and that is what I love about it.

E92 M3 owner here, was deciding between a C7 Z51 and E92 M3, and I ended up getting the M3 because:
1. Got my M3 used from a good friend, clean history and very good price. 2. C7 Z51 got a long waiting list, and dealers are asking MSRP or plus, and we all know you will be able to get good discount on the C7 within a year or two. 3. I may move to China next year, and it doesn't make much sense for me to buy a new C7, and take a big hit if I do move. BUT, if I am not thinking about moving, I'd definitely wait a little bit and order a C7. |

Also, I think the C7 Z06 MAY share some performance components with the C7 Z51 to reduce cost. |

Under $200,000 There likely won't be many, if any, cars under $200,000 that would be able to keep up with it if it performs as expected relative to the standard car.

Yep... but very few names on the list. Besides, the GTR is a computer on wheels and AWD... no fun at all

I do think it will. The C6 Z06 outpeformed the 997 GT3, much like the base C6 outperformed the base 997. And now the C7 will likely outperform the base 991, so based on the trend I expect the C7 Z06 to be faster than the 991 GT3.
