Exactly. Since I was originally #9 on my dealer's list I thought I wouldn't order until the summer. My number came up in Feb and then I was originally assigned a week 19 build slot. I was fine with this (19" wheels and M-DCT) but then got pushed up to week 12, and this is when I started getting obsessed with receiving it. The car was shipped on the Tagus, which was untrackable and only made it worse.

The only good part of this is that it gives them plenty of time to install the alarm and the aluminum pedals. My CA told me today that this is their first M-DCT to come in. Now I'm worried they won't know how to prepare or drive it....

Keeping the Evo 8 for DD/beater... and keeping the S2000, probably for as long as I go to the track. It's an excellent car, but it's not really streetable. I'll probably get the Evo X to replace my 8 around the end of the year. The M3 is going to be my awesome "toy"! I will drive it to work sometimes and pose in it too... and maybe a track day to play with the power oversteeeer!

BMW CCA is having an autocross in July - best place to play with that oversteer!

Yeah, but then everyone gets to watch and laugh if/when I spin!!

I much prefer a "Club Day" at Spring Mountain! Lots of open track, especially in the summer. Usually they open it up at 6am... by 10:30am it's too hot to drive.

If you have some very abstract definition of part throttle "feel" that has nothing do do with acceleration then I agree a butt or even an opinion will do because you are not being precise and clear as to the metric. I agree with you that the sensation of acceleration is very important but to me not nearly as important as the actual acceleration. Either way where there is any significant margin of difference your butt will probably pick that up and if one is reasonably astute and able to separate other psychological acceleration cues from the true acceleration you really won't need an accelerometer.
Very complicated subject, guy. The entire concept of how a vehicle "feels" as it answers the driver's inputs at varying engine speeds with varying throttle inputs is essentially an abstract one. Accelerometers will be of essentially no value here.

But you know what? Probably someone has done something neat in this area in an effort to get some reasonable metric. I'm going to try and find something that's public, or a least available.
