Ess vf state on the website that before installing any kit above 600 the rod bearings mUst be updated on 2008 models
Some of you stated that few 2010 models had issues concerning rod bearings. Can some of the experienced few shine some light on this topic for the ret of us. Thanks

Here's a thread that talks about it a bit. Based on what people have said, it may not be entirely related to bearings.

Thanks for the link. I aswell have read several posts but it seems like most are opinions rather then facts.

Companies are acting very responsibly and also to a lesser extent covering themselves by suggesting a part is changed which has been updated by BMW.

Given the job is actually not very difficult at all it is well worth changing the bearings.

Many opinions out there on the subject of why motors have blown.

On the S62 scene, changing rod bearings is very much the norm and at the top of most people's maintenance list.
