Exactly. My driving significantly improved when I stopped threshold braking every turn. Braking is meant to turn forward momentum into heat but also shift weight to the front axle. Just like everyone says to be smoother on the throttle, you need to be smoother on AND off the brakes. You should use the brakes to manage front end grip.
Too many people throw out the anchor on every corner. A lot of E46 drivers complain about understeer. Most fix it by spending money and suspension adjustments. You can fix it in most cases by altering your braking.
