Thanks to D'z - looking forward to getting it and bringing a little more excitement to the South!!!

However, after poking around some I believe the exhaust he had pictured may have been the Sport, not Race. He's taken the pictures down, but the forward cross-over pipe between the mufflers was round on top, and I believe all the Eisenmann Race mufflers have the cross over with an indentation, and SHOULD look like this from another WTS posting right now for an E92:

The item he's selling looked more like this:

Possibly an honest mistake given it wasn't on his car, but I don't really want the Sport.

I've sent him a message, but could someone please verify this? I'd like to clear this up before he ships and charges me on Monday. I definitely don't need to be shipping/returning the wrong item cross country. Twice.

Thanks!

D'z - if you could post the pics back it might help. Along with the actual part numbers from the exhaust.

Could anyone please provide the Eisenmann Race and Sport part numbers for an E92?

Thanks for your help!

I'm hopeful D'z has the actual Race system, and will certainly be happy to be bolting it on if so! He's been great to deal with, and I'm otherwise happy with the transaction!

It appears that the part number is the same for the Race and Sport - B5267.00835. How are these marked/labeled to differentiate between the two?

OK - have I just gone completely off the deep end for no reason?

Found the following picture on another site. Is the front "scoop" the differentiator for the sedan verson of this exhaust? I sure hope so, as I really want this to work!

What the heck? is this some sort of random scoopage by Eisenmann, depending on who fashioned a particular item???

George, I think it may be an E90 vs E92/E93 thing. Here's a link to the Sport I bought from WKBRDR. It also has the forward pipe scallop.

Ajax - that was precisely my concern, and I asked before finalizing to verify this was an E92 fitment, not the sedan. D'z seemed certain it was, but I certainly can't break the code on what the significance of the scalloped/non-scalloped versions are. My concern is obviously that the non-scalloped version he's sold me is either a) not a Race or b) not proper fitment for my coupe.

BTW - I really appreciate you chiming in, particularly given that you've got a set for sale as well. I hope I don't end up with a problem trying to go a route with connecting pipes....

The posts in the Eisenmann overview thread would lead me to the opposite conclusion from what you posted. It opens with basically small/scalloped = sedan, large/non-scalloped = coupe.

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=170265

I'm still waiting to hear from him. I've PM'd and faxed my request for clarification to him. I'm obviously not the expert he is, and will likely simply have to rely on his accuracy. I'm cool with that, but am still confused!!!

I'm assuming the E90 version will not fit my coupe. Could anyone verify that for me, perhaps?

Hmmm. I understand your confusion, but not sure if I can provide a concrete answer. I DO know that there is a difference (I believe it's the length of the tips) between the sedan and coupe fitments. I also think that the labels on your pic might be mixed up. The reason why I say this is that both Eisenmann systems I have run had the scallop, and the difference between Sport and Race is VERY discernible.

While I didn't check the plate on the Sport before it was installed, I have a photo from my original Race. It clearly says that it was for E92/E93. So, unless there is some 'randomness' factor in Eisenmann's production, my gut tells me Dz's may be a Race, but for the E90...

The labels in my post from 8:07 (CST) above are actually from the post in the Eisenmann review thread by the NA distributor. That's what just led me to be even more confused. I pretty much trust that D'z knows what his friend is driving, and he has assured me they will fit, but it just doesnt' make sense. I wish he hadn't pulled down the pictures really. No idea why that would be.

Clearly the plate should indicate E92/E93 or E90, so I assume he looked at that. Does the "R" suffix stamped to the far right indicate the race version?

I believe it does. I tried to call IND, but I guess they aren't in today. If you look at their pics of an install on an E92, the unit had the front scallop.

D'z - if you could post the pictures back up, and possibly a picture of the stampled plate, this could all be solved!

Its slightly confusing so you havent lost it.

That "scoop" is for the E93, but it can also fit the E92 as well. Mufflers otherwise stay exactly the same which is why you might see that scoop on all 3 versions sometimes.

The difference between E90 and E92/93 are mainly the tips length. E90 has shorter tips while the E92/E93 has longer ones. Which is mainly what you need to look out for.

Back to your question. The E90 exhaust will fit on your E92, BUT the tips will be sucken into the bumper.

Hope that helps.

That actually helps a lot!

D'z just called me to assure me he had gotten this direct from IND for his customer and that he was virtually certain it was what they shipped early in production from Eisenmann for both the E90 and E92 applications. Just to be sure, he's going to call them Monday to verify the item number prior to shipping. Problem solved (although it really may never have been a problem other than in my crazy head!!!).

Just to be clear, D'z has been very pleasant to deal with, and I don't want to seem like I'm questioning his accuracy or integrity. Just trying to make sure it's the right piece, and perhaps solve the same question for others in the future. With the help of people like Jesal above, who actually know what's up!

Thanks to all who have helped and sent PMs.

Jesal is 100% correct.

All the Eisenmann Ex M3 systems now come with the "scoop". This system that is for sale will only fit the E92 M3 coupe and will not be able to clear the rear support arm on a E93 M3. Also the tips will be too long for a sedan E90 M3.
