F8x does not have an //M engine. End of story and end of my interest.
And lets see how the brakes hold up on the F8x at the track, especially the CCB.

I just can get enough of a high revving V8. That's very unusual

Neither did the 1 M which is selling like hotcakes to all the fanboys at a high price premium. Nor do the X5M or X6M. The F80 isn't really breaking any new grounds in terms of an M car with turbos.

After having (3) N63's (1) N55 and (1) N18 , I would concur in saying they all can be temperamental.

This. Manual + RWD + V8 + 4 doors + great steering and handling = a very rare bird. Very glad I've got mine. I'd love to keep it forever; if that doesn't work out, I may consider the F80 M3 at some point.

Like many others here, the sound is a lot of what makes the experience of this car fantastic. Would be hard to give that up.

And I'll be even more content once I finally get test pipes (or a full exhaust) and a tune!

Although, I love European Cars (pretty much my preference) and certain Japanese Cars as well. I grew up being exposed to 302's, 350's, 351's, 396's, 454's etc...

The S65B40 allows me to "albeit loosely" pay homage to the cars with the aforementioned engine variations (especially on cold start), in a right sized - for me at least - euro coupe with equal parts luxury/rawness. Put it this way perhaps F80 as an "addition" never a replacement

Further to the point of this thread, I have zero interest in any overpriced and unreliable modern BMW or even Porsche. Actually once I'm done with the M3 I may make the opposite move to you and get a C6 Z06. That or a GTR possibly. Or I may get an old S2k, Evo or Nissan Z and build it into a dedicated track car and have a more reasonable daily driver instead.
Downgrade? yea in terms of speed. The M is built so much better than any American car or Jap car i had in the past. The Z06 motor isnt a race motor...theyve been using the same old Pushrod since God knows when. YEs the Z smokes the M, slap a blower on the M..bye bye Z. Refinement! Apples to oranges. Good luck

Overhall a big dissapointment of a car(judged on my personnal criteria)!

thats spot on. The LS motors have tons of power and a lot of room for more power. But they are more of a lazy motor.

Since when being lighter then its predecessor is an M principle!? As for the better aero, suspension, brakes and performance, every M3 since the first one has been improved in those departement!

Everyone loves the 1M but everyone also agree that the E9x is more special, mostly because of it's engine!

LOL. I did get a chuckle out if this. Like it or not, fellas (and ladies), technology evolves. This is just where we are, now. FI is storming the beach.
