Exhaust weight
Nope, that's what I measured on the same scale. I wish there were weight savings, but a couple pounds one way or another is not significant. I imagine the Race version is a couple pounds lighter. The sound and looks are worth it.
Neither weight includes the tailpipe sections that are welded to the stock muffler, as these were cut off to reuse. I guess that's where the weight of around 50# I'd heard perviously for OEM came from.

We have heard nothing but good feedback on the Eisenmann systems. IND Guys have done a great job of supporting the vendors and keeping the lead times in check.

So this isn't a simple bolt on huh? We need to cut and weld or cut and clamp?

E90 Eisenmann M3
Eisenmann Germany just confirmed that there will be two tip options available for the E90 M3. Just make sure that you let your Eisenmann dealer know which tip length will work best for you. I personally like the longer aggressive tip on the E90 M3.
1- Short = Part# B5268.00835 2- Long (aggressive) Part# B5267.00835

Yea I think I like the long ones unless you have a rear diffuser. Then I like it sort of flush.

I didn't know I had an option. Good thing I got the long ones because I plan on getting a rear diffuser.

Wow...do the exhausts come with both options or did we need to specify which ones we wanted when we ordered? I already ordered mine with Julian@STO but didn't specify a tip option?

And not the E92/93? Or do you mean E90s?

The E92/E93 require the system with the longer tips, whereas the sedan uses the system with the shorter tips. A few sedan customers have said that they like the longer tips on their sedans as well, so those systems will be available as a no-cost option to E90 owners.
Unless otherwise specified, E92/E93 M3 systems will leave as the longer tip, coupe systems. The E90 exhausts will be shipped as the shorter tip, sedan systems, but customers may opt for the longer tips if they choose. Hope that clears it up!

Fitted my Eissenman and ensured they where are close to the body work as possible, they moved in about 25mm when 'fully home' I could easily had them 25mm further out. I prefer the tucked in, neat look

The movement in was following loosening the clamps a pushing them all the way in as far as I could. Pictures are cold they come out by 10-15mm when very hot. The point I was making refers to the abiity to fit them in different positions depending on how far you slide the pipes into the silencer mounts.

I have to admit, I am kind of disappointed by the fact that we need to cut our stock piping in order to use this system. Wouldn't a bolt-on design be more advantageous? Also, I had contacted Rogue Engineering about ordering the Eisenmann Sport for my E90 but ran into a number of problems with the distributor he talked to. Is it true that these mufflers are manufactured order-by-order only?

Carl,
I completely understand your concerns, hopefully I can address them here: The connecting pipes, although convenient to install, offer no performance improvement. In designing a new exhaust system, Eisenmann spends time analyzing the OEM system for potential areas of improvement, while still considering that the system must remain road legal. The connecting pipes do not offer a performance improvement over stock piping, and therefore are not manufactured. Because we are out of Rogue's territory (we distribute to the West Coast, Midwest, and Canada), I can say that we order new M3 systems every other Friday, and the more we order the more they sell. By ordering as often as we do, we are able to keep wait times quite short for most customers- we've always got a large number of systems on order, so it's easy to get one quickly.

I heard the Eisenmann race in person yesterday. What a sound! That's how the M3 should come stock. I've only heard two mufflers in person now. The remus does not have that deep exotic tone that the eisenman has.
