These are about 24-25lbs per wheel and they are hub centric.
Thx for the info. A better fitment for the fronts would be that +20mm you have listed for an e60 5-series. That combined w/the +22mm rear would be a good combo for $750 + shipping.

However, these ASA JH8's (hubcentric) would be cheaper ($456 or $576 + shipping) but unfortunately Tire Rack list them as limited availability due to closeout:

I think your only options for low-cost wheels are:

1) Look in the For sale forum and eBay for e9x M3 owners selling their oem 18" wheels & MICHELIN PS2 tires (these tires alone cost almost $1200). Not many owners selling them yet so hard to get a fair average selling price but IMO based on the average price of the oem 19" wheels & tires these will probably go for around $1500-$2000 at most. Or...

2) You can wait for more low-cost options.

I'm going to do the latter since I'm a cheap a$$.

An ET40 would put the inside wheel lip at 11mm closer to the strut. Is there that much clearance? Has anyone measured this dimension?

OK well now they really don't have any more because i bought the last remaining ones.. actually i had to get 2 black, and 2 silver. ill just paint or powdercoat them all black. $515 shipped for all 4. Not bad.. I figured it probably wouldn't get much cheaper than that.

I'm planning on putting on the BFG R1 tires (245/40 & 265/35), there are some guys on ebay selling sets of 4 245/40 with minimal wear for about $400. I figure that will give me 2 sets for the front.

Another guy on ebay has a set of 2 rear 265s for about $350 shipped. I don't know if I'll go specificially with those exact auctions, but that would put the set of rims, 2 sets of fronts, and 1 set of rears at about $1200.

Ccw wheels are very cheap and really good. Sworn by the Corvette and Porsche crowds.

yeah ccw makes a pretty tough wheel. i've seen quite a bit of them on track cars for over the past dozen or so years that I've been out at the track.

Those are a good low cost track wheel. Also look at Team Dynamics Pro Race about ~16lbs(Bimmerworld guys love them). Also SSR type C and type F, Enkei RPF1 and NT03. Not sure if they offer E9x offsets yet.

I would go 17 or 18inch for track wheels, definitely no bigger than 18's and non-staggered.

Staggered = understeer
Non staggered = balanced.
