DIY Install Video - Keyhole Delete
Just wanted to share another one of our DIY install videos.
This will show you how to delete that ugly looking keyhole/locking mechanism from your driver's side BMW door handle for the ultimate "clean" look. Enjoy! Please let me know if you guys had any questions or concerns. |

Keep in mind, this us for a sedan. The location of the screw us behind the door trim in the coupe; just pull it back from the edge of the door. It's not a separate plug like on the sedan.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

That was always my plan with my E46 M, but my E90 doesn't have a key hole on the trunk so I think you'd be SOL if the key battery died now. The only option would be to go for a hike and get the battery replaced.

The battery on your keyfob is automatically recharged everytime you plug it into your car, so just make sure you can plug it in everytime to keep it charged up (even if you have comfort access).

Actually this is incorrect for cars with comfort access. CA equipped cars don't have rechargable batteries in the fobs - just a plain old CR2032.

+1 bump. I just watched the video a few times, but it seems it will be different perhaps significantly so for a coupe, and I would like to know how to retain the LEDs too.

Hey Guys,
E92s are nearly identical, there is a rubber flap that covers the screw hole location: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=132960 These also have the cut out to retain the under door LED. |
