You don't have to remove any buttons.
Use Electric contact clearer. My 'menu' button was sticky. I used this for about 1 week straight. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AF0OFVU Spray a good amount it, and repeated press and wiggle the button around. Eventually the button gets clean. Have a micro fiber towel to soak up some residue/sugar. |

My button was gummed up on the underside of the cap and it was hard for the product to soak in. My buttons work perfectly now. This stuff was made for applications like this. GL |

I too had a sticky button on my steering wheel controls. I'm not sure what from exactly--previous owner. I got the controls replaced with under warranty.
I did get the replaced part back. Once I'd opened them up--not too difficult really--I discovered what was probably soda in between the button and the housing. Having removed that, the buttons work flawlessly. I now have the repaired set of controls available for anyone who needs them. PM me if interested |

Looks like Home Depot did not have it in stock. I've ordered it from Amazon.

Eventually the solution dissolves the sugar. You also have to get aggressive when pressing (or even lifting) the buttons. Rip apart the radio seems like a lot of work and likely to break something else along the way. |

This situation is the very reason I do not allow food or drink inside my car. People view it as an OCD habit...on the plus side I won't have to deal with this predicament.
