Carbon Fiber splitters

I was wondering if anyone has purchased carbon fiber splitters from this eBay seller:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/160565471917?...84.m1423.l2649

The price is right however they are so cheap compared to OEM I'm questioning the quality and fitment.

Thoughts...

On the carbon stuff, 99% of the time you get what you pay for. I bought a part from a vendor on here who claimed perfect fitment and went to install it...far from perfect. It was one of the copied items. So just do your homework. I have the OEM splitters and they fit perfectly. Quality is superb.

That's what I'm afraid of.

I want to go OEM on the splitters & mirror caps however I don't want to pay an arm & a leg for them. If I can find someone who has purchased these to verify quality & fitment it will save me a lot of money for other mods

If no one can vouch I'll wait for a deal on the OEM stuff.

Go OEM IMO. I scanned the feedback and those that bought them seemed satisfied, however someone did mention this was the second set they bought(still positive feedback)

That's funny I sent the person who bought a second set a message but haven't heard back yet.

Did you go to the stealership to get a quote? If you did damn straight you're gonna get charged an arm and a leg. In YYC she quoted me like $1300+, you can just buy them from a vendor and get them shipped here for less than $1000.

If I do go OEM I'll end up buying them from Tischer:
http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...catalogid=4462

and

mirror caps:
http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...catalogid=4462

These parts total $1,190 so is you were quoted $1,300 just for the splitters you've been had! Shop around.

Oh don't worry I didn't purchase them aha. I was getting some winter mats and thought why not see how much they rip you off. I'm gonna be getting all my parts from iND, Tischer and SonicMS.

I too have OEM splitters. Fitment is amazing. They can be had for ~560 (?) iirc from golfrrr's parts dept.

Look for used ones in the classifieds section. They come up quite often.

In that post someone brought up a great point about the possibility of damaging them and having to buy another set. This could get costly. For that reason buying the aftermarket product makes sense.

The eBay person who has purchased two sets in going to e-mail some pics to me tonight. I'll share my findings after I receive them.

The OEM splitter design does not decrease ground clearance to any noticeable degree, so I wouldn't worry too much about accidental damage. I haven't any clearance issues since installing them, but perhaps I was already being quite careful since my Dinan suspension was installed previous to the splitters.

I'm sure most of us do lots of backing in, angled approaches, and have a keen awareness of those damn parking curbs regardless if we have splitters or not!

I believe there have been previous pics posted on the forum of the ebay splitters (I think on an LMB E90? IIRC) and they looked decent from the photos. He actually compared an OEM vs ebay on the left and right. A little search should reveal the thread.

Yeah, I agree with Chowster, these do not decrease clearance much, if any. I've driven around DT everywhere, every weekend, lowered with a molded lip... no damage in 2 years. You do have to adjust your driving style(angles, slow approach, etc), once you get a feel for it..easy. If you're one of those guys that have no hopes to even save your OEM bumper, then there's likely lesser hope of salvaging these in 1 piece. At the end of the day, you know you your own driving style/roads the best to make the call. If you think you need to go through a couple splitters a year, certainly in your favour to buy the reps.
