I think a Bastuck would sound great with an X-pipe. It's a little mellow up top, and an X-pipe should really open it up. It's great down low- nice and deep without being obnoxious, but almost stock up top.

i have bastuck exhaust and its slightly louder than stock. its on the same level as eisenmann sport. you can hear it in person on my car next time we meet. oh and i pass all track regulations... mt tremblant circuit has a limit of 93db from 50 feet away (at 3/4 max revs) and i came in just under the limit. the same limit is imposed at calabogie circuit as well.

Guys the truth is I would love to get some Race or cat-less version of an exhaust because I know the sound would be like 10000x better - but this would just be way way too loud. I need to be able and live with it every day, go to the hospital without being labeled a tool (i am not yet established like many of you are and cannot afford to not give a shit what anyone thinks) and so need to stay below radar-ish (and I say ish loosely - I am not going to give up everything!! lol) while still improving stock sound. Also, and very important, is that I need it to be <100 if not <95 db.

Until now, I know the bastuck is fine (because montreal_red hasn't gotten kicked out of a racetrack that I plan on going to!) and will be looking at other similar options that are not very loud.

Thanks for all your guys' help and would still appreciate opinions!

Bastuck and Dinan are complete axle-back pieces, while Eisenmann Sport and Remus Sport are mufflers, in which case you need to get connecting pipes for them, which can be purchased separately. If you want to shell out 3,500(ish) dollars for just an axle-back though, you can't beat Akrapolvic IMO. Not too loud (my friend has full system and it's still pretty gosh darn quiet every time I get in it) looks gorgeous and has terrific build quality.

To get real sound you need an xpipe. Mufflers IMO change tone while the really aggressive ones do add pretty good volume, but definitely not enough on the upper half of the tach.

the TUV certification on the Bastuck, Eisenmann Sport and the Remus sport will keep the decibel ratings at a minimum. Some tracks do have sound limitations and if you want to enjoy them, the TUV certified systems are certainly the way to go.
