I daily mine. Just spent an hour in bumper to bumper traffic in Boston's nasty roads which made me feel bad for this beast. But then it only has 26k miles (10k by me in past year) and I want to be the one putting miles on it (rather than the next owner).

This is why I stopped daily driving mine. I moved and have had the same mileage trip as you for the past 5 years. I couldn't think of putting all those miles so I now daily an '02 RX300 that just never seems to quit. I then bought a Dakota truck for hauling things and picking up firewood. Don't forget to put it on a trickle charger that likes AGM batteries once you make the move.

I daily mine and decline a company car for maintenance money instead. What's the point you guys? Why have a bad ass car and make it sit and waste away. Use them and maintain them nothing new. The fear in some folks with these cars is redonculous! Cars are for usage not storage. A 1 of 100 is maybe something to guard but it's just an M and it wants an owner to flog it and take care of it. #stopthemadness

Daily mine around 40/day and take her on long weekend trips, that said I travel maybe a fourth of the year. Have only put on 12k over the last 19 months which I feel is pretty solid.

I bought the sedan specifically because the wife wouldn't take kindly to a third car. I daily drive 4.5 miles each way to work. My engine oil reaches full operating temperature at about the 3.5 mile mark. I usually drive between 6-7k miles a year. It is painful sometimes. However, I still love the sound this engine makes - even when puttering around in traffic. It puts a smile on my face every time I start her up.

I daily a Honda S2000. Most fun in the winter in Michigan. Thing is a party on snow tires (doesn't even have traction control), until it gets >6", then I need to wait for someone else to blaze a trail (ruts) or else I turn into a snow plow.

I used to daily a E53 X5 but switched to a E90 335d, it's a very fun daily with all that torque and 40+mpg. I might switch to a E70 35d because of the winters here though.
The M3 is a weekend car, but I do drive it to work on some nice days.

I have 2 kids and a manual e92 is not a convenient car for a lot of situations. It’s also nice to have an suv for bad weather, kid hauling, large item moving, heavy traffic situations. The m3 is more fun to own because most of the downsides don’t apply when you have a second car. Don’t have to worry about traffic, lack of space inside etc. I only drive it when I want. |

I daily mine, about 20 miles a day roundtrip, at least 4 days a week, and do ~5K miles a year. I bought this car to drive frequently, not to sit in the garage, especially since it's so good at being a daily (and at flogging when I want to do that too).
I do also have a 2011 Nissan Murano in the driveway for snow/winter duty when needed.

I used to daily my E90 M3 from 2015-2018. 54k miles to 90k miles. Now it's a garage queen, while I daily my 2013 135is. I love the difference between the two cars, as a best of both worlds.

I daily mine to work 5 days and then drive my Tacoma on the weekend for sports and beach duties. Thought it would be the other way around when I bought it a year ago, but this way I keep my 8 and 11 yo boys out of the M3. It gets the odd Sat/Sunday drive too of course, but every Monday morning I'm so excited to fire it back up!

I daily mine for almost a year when I first got it. My commute is about 17km each way in downtown rush hour traffic. No point driving the M3 in traffic where I travel a few feet at a time with cyclists zipping around you. Several occasions I had cyclists leaning against my car with their hand at a stop light because they were too lazy to take their feet off the pedals.
Now I daily a 4Runner (used to be a matrix), much more relaxing driving in downtown traffic. Now I'll tap the gas and slam on the brakes right away to jerk the car when cyclists lean against me. They can get pissy all they want, I can careless. I think it is actually cheaper in the long run not to daily my m3. The 4Runner is better on gas, cheaper to maintain and cheaper insurance. M3 is now on pleasure use insurance, which is another saving over insurance for work/school over 15km each way. |

The advantage to myself and my family of having a 3-row SUV around that costs me nothing is more significant to me than being able to daily the M3. Quote:

No pay cut nor does my company have to buy or lease a car. I do my oil changes and they pay for my oil & filter. I do my brakes and they pay for the pads, sensors and rotors. They also pay for the local dealer to perform my coolant, brake fluid and diff flushes every 50,000. At the end of the day I get to use the car I love at the expense of miles on my car. My employer does not have to lease or buy and the services/materials they pay for are a tax right off. I also have other vehicles but the M3 seems to be the only option I see for some reason. I think my original point was why sweat the miles on a car we all wanted and were lucky enough to acquire not to shame anyone for their DD choices. Our M3's aren't fragile cars despite popular opinion.

I like the turbo (something different than NA 6MT of E90 M3), like the size as a daily, relatively okay MPG and fun to drive Ive been following some 135i pricing, and it's really good...but being a bmw owner for yrs i know it may need some work to properly work as a reliable daily how was ur experience so far with the 135i?

I daily mine, and have no issue slowly racking up the miles. Up to 72k miles including road trips to both coasts for BMWCCA Ofest events. My true weekend cars are/will be even more sports car/special occasion focused (current weekend car is Cobra 427 replica).
Our E36 M3 has 136K miles on it, and our E39 M5 had like 115K miles on it when we sold it. Bought to be driven!
