Rear rotors rusted to hub :(

Bought a used stoptech bbk, no problems installing the front. The rear rotors are frozen solid to the hub. 3 of us beat on it for over half an hour with not a wiggle. Does anyone know any tricks to get them off?

Do you have the parking brake set? I had this problem one time and it took me awhile to figure out that I had the parking brake on

good suggestion, we did have the parking brake set at first but fixed it...tomorrow a larger hammer

I start with a 3lb dead blow hammer and work my up. Usually after an hour and a 5# engineers hammer, I've broken it loose. Sometimes ruining the rotor.

Have you used lots of WD40 or other penetrating oil to help loosen things up?

I learned that one last week on my friend's 525. Good to know the e-brake works.

WD-40 and a dead blow will work.

How about applying heat to the rotor hat (not the hub)? Should cause it to expand at a faster rate since it's thinner.

Today, we used a hammer and tapped it on the hub (between the studs). Soon after the rotor finally came off!

Idk if heating up the metal (to the degree a torch would) is such a good idea. That kind of heat can change the composite and properties of a metal and it's probably ill advised around brake or wheel parts as it might make the metal more brittle.?

ive always used PB Blaster. let it soak overnight and its magic in the morning!
