How thick are the spacers? I wouldn't do it....
Did you follow the DIY installation instructions from EAS?

Lol...hmmm I don't know how deep the threads are in the hubs...I wouldn't risk my wheels not being attached properly if the lugs hit the inside of the hub and make you think the wheel is tight....
Are these on the OEM wheels on your E92 that your putting the spacers onto?

No weights did not fall off. Yes tried with another set of wheels. Yes cleaned prior to installing, and after and triple checked. Yes I torqued it down to 88ftlbs. No there is no play in the hub, rack. Will confirm tomorrow if it is the MS spacers that are the problem. |

so it was the front spacers that gives the wheel shake?

Yup...the steering doesn't like spacers at all...even if the wheels are perfect...
The rear wheels aren't connected to steering so it doesn't create a shimmy...

Yes, the front wheels will cause the steering wheel shake/vibration. This same thing has happened to me running BBS wheels with spacers, OEM 19s with spacers, etc.

Do not use extended wheel lugs without the spacers installed.
Here's a recent post regarding vibration and switching from the H&R to Macht Schnell to cure the issue: Quote:

It's no use...I am fairly convinced you are still going to have a shimmy...

Back to the thread topic.
I took my wheel off and hand tightened the extended MS bolt and it went all the way to the cone end of the bolt. So why is it not a good idea to run extended bolts without spacers?

As long as it clears, it won't hurt a thing. In the rear, an extremely overly long bolt would interfere with the e-brake spring, but there is a lot of clearance, and you would feel it. Just put the bolt in without the wheel and check the clearance. If it contacts anything, then measure the remaining thread length to the thickness of the wheel. I mean, it's just a bolt, we ain't reprogramming the the computer here. With that said, you don’t want to leave long bolts in very long, since the unprotected portion protruding through the hub will collect debris and will rust rapidly, so removing them could be difficult

do yourself a favor and get some TMS spacers. I've been running mine for months and have ZERO vibration.

I turned all the lugs by hand and they're fine. Cannot think of any neg affects to this aside from what you said regrading the debris and rust. This is somewhat temporary until I get some new ones from a U.S. dealer at $3 a bolt vs $10 here in CAD. What a joke

while on the topic of bolts... anyone know the proper length that should protrude past the wheel? I ask because I noticed that when I put on my HRE's, I had slightly less protrusion than stock, which means less threads engaged. I am debating whether its worth buying slightly longer bolts, as I am only going to keep these wheels for another 2 weeks or so. Any suggestions?
