auto fold mirrors

I know I can push the button and fold the mirrors in but is there any way to set it to autofold when I park or lock the doors?
I can't find any settings in the idrive.

You can't unless you use EAS aftermarket option.

it is an oversight by BMW to not be able to program the car this way. it should easily be an option in iDrive.

You can do it w/out aftermarket parts. I had the dealer program my car to fold mirrors using FOB.

i you have a way to do it then let it be known... AFAIK the EAS option & having a friend re-wire the car to do it upon shut down are the only ways that i personally know how.

i'll be choosing the EAS option down the line... EAS FTW

Yeah, ours is the European version. It could only be done by the dealer; no i-drive option, so sorry, I don't know how it was done.

Not looking for an exact answer, but what are the odds that the option, or any others that may exist would be doable on an ED car, or even better, an ED car that is getting its 1200 mi svc done before coming home. There's an idea. Kinda requires a bunch of planning, but.......

It was possible until you said "affordable" - the e9x M3 mirrors are quite expensive and I'm not aware of the motors are available seperately.

Coding is also needed on retrofits.
