clay and tint my new car today :)

I got my car on July 1, and today i decided to do a full detail on the car. I also did my own window tint, took me about 3 hours. I did 75% front window shield with solargard (good for reflect sunlight and heat), 40% for the side and 30% for the back.

I clay the whole car, and took out a lot of dirt from the clear coat. I used mother clay kit, which works great and easy to use. I highly recommend to use it.

I notice there are orange peel in my paint, i did some research and found out it is normal for AW color, it is only noticeable when you look close.

Enjoy the pics, sorry i took the pics with iphone.

Looks great! Congrats!

What did you put on the car after you were done claying it?

Im pretty sure that you should get some type of wax or sealant on there asap

Clay is a cleaner, not a protectant. I strongly recommend waxing it.

Cars looking good. Very brave to do the tint yourself. I tried it once on an older car and never again after that! Definitely put some kind of wax or sealant on there soon. It's not good to clay the car without some protection afterwords.

Clay is not supposed to remove or damage clear coat. It just removes the contaminants.

ya, that's what i thought. So i guess wax few days later won't hurt the paint.

My AW has noticeable Orange Peel as well.

I don't believe its worth it to have it repaired as orange peel removal requires wet sanding, therefore a hefty price tag.

Clay will most likely remove all existing wax, which means, there's less protection on the paint.

If you see any bird shit, make sure you clean it up right away.
