Help with Navigation issue

I have 2011 M3with Navigation. On pg. 146 of the manual it describes how to find gas station recommendations along your route.
1. Navigation
2. Route information
3. Recommended refuel
A list of gas station is displayed.
Except on my Nav recommended refuel is not displayed. I know that you can find them in points of interest, but it annoys me that what’s in the manual is not on my navigation system.
I called BMW and they were no help, also the dealer was no help.
Does anyone else out there have the same problem?

You can enable/disable those common points of interest icons in the nav settings. Check to make sure refuel stations are on. Also there was a bug at one point where some icons wouldn't show up depending on what level zoom you were at. I had this problem with my 09 car. I'd hope they fixed that by now.

Feature is dynamic: refuel list shows up in my 2009 iDrive only when I'm low on gas and on a Nav trip; that's what your page 146 description (in 2009 manual is page 128) means.

I thought of that and waited until the low on fuel warning indicator appeared in the indicator area between the speedometer and the tachometer. I then brought up a route in the nav. and checked to see if recommended refuel came up as an option under route information and it didn't. Maybe I wasn't low enough on fuel?

I don't remember exactly if it was when the permanent "low fuel" prompt (that's when you are within 30 miles to empty) showed up or not, but I do remember seeing that "recommended refuel" menu selection in one of my trips.

However... I also remember seeing that particular variable in the coding of my CIC. And before I fully coded my CIC to my VO it was disabled.

So I don't know if for some strange reason that feature is actually disabled in your unit or in all MY2011 CIC, even when it is supposed to be a standard feature and it actually works if enabled.

I'll look at mine today and see if I can see that prompt.

Nope. The car was almost out of fuel (it literally said "---" mls) and no "Recommended refuel".

Even the previous instruction to resume the original route on page 145 is wrong. It's suppose to be:
1. Navigation
2. Route Information
3. New route for (this is missing)
4. Remove blocking

So I bet "Recommended refuel" is some where in there, might have to find the correct settings for it to appear. 2011 here as well.

This stuff drives me crazy. My SA basically told me to get a life. Does anyone know a phone number for BMW that will get an answer for this?

Enter a destination of more than 300 miles, or anything exceeding current fuel reserve in miles and this should show up...

Clicking on it will give you a list of gas stations near that point in the trip list.

It is dynamic but based on your current gas reserve, not on the low fuel level prompt as I stated before.

Thanks for the reply:
I put in a destination way beyond my fuel range and still didn't get that screen showing the nearest fuel stations.

The variable NAVI_FUELSTOP_PROPOSAL is not enabled in your CIC... I don't know why this feature is disabled in the USA and still is shown in the USA manual as enabled.

I enabled that variable... check this thread for information on how to do custom coding: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=451145
