Has BMW shut down 2012 m3 production

I put in an ED order about a month ago. Spoke to sales manager today regarding the lack of a production number. He told me he wasn't optimistic I'd get one, based on what he's hearing.

I've heard 2012 allocations are just about done or have run out.

At this stage, why bother with a 2012 when you can now order a 2013? Longer wait, yes...but you get the final model year of the e9x!

I would prefer the latest model year. That said, I wanted to pick up in early summer and I've already negotiated the deal. Based on other posts I've seen, isn't it too early for the 2013s ? Allocations aren't out yet, right ?

You're contradicting yourself. You said they told you that you aren't getting an allocation but you think a deal you made has already been negotiated. No allocation, no deal. If you can't get a 12, then you'll have to order a 13 if you want ED.

That is what I was told 5 minutes ago.

I received a production date on 16 May for my 2012 M3 (there were only 4 slots left). I am guessing there might be different allocations process though since I am ordering here in Germany.
