18*10 ET25 Track tire choices
Guys,
I did do a search and was able to find some answers but the variables (suspension, spacers etc.) were different. I have a set of 18*10 ET 25 wheels which I run just for the track. Its a stock E90 and I intend to add -3 camber up front soon (GC Plates). Previously I ran 275/18s front and rear. The tires are gone and before I purchased another set of Toyo R888 or R1s, wanted to know my options please: 1) What is the maximum I can stuff on these wheels without rubbing or running spacers. Can I go 285s in the front or 275s is about the limit? What about the rears? Would 295s or 305s work? 2) If I ran spacers, what would my option be then without rubbing? Again car is not lowered and running stock brakes. Basically looking for an option to run the widest rubber on a stock setup. Thank you in advance. Lutfy |

If you go bigger than 275 on a 10" rim you'll start to lose steering feel. Read the tire specs as each tire is different. Might want to look into Nitto NT01's in 275/35.
BTW...how do you like the mix of PFC 01 and 08? I'm also running 01's in the rear and 08 in the front.

I did a square set of PSS 275/25/18. Wih PSS, rain or shine...it owns the track. On the flip side, I think NT-01s or Dunlop Direzza manage heat better (based on hearsay not experience).

The 18x10" ET25 supports the 275/35/18 tire sidewall very well, any larger and the tires will balloon a bit. We would recommend sticking to the 275/35/18 tire size for the best steering response and sidewall support.

I use a 18x10 et25 set up all around. With 3+ camber up front and 2+ in the rear.
Due to the amount of camber, I can easily use 10 mm spacers front and rear on 275/35/18 Continental scrubs. However, it is pretty tight in the rear (tire to fender) with spacers. There's plenty of room if you don't use spacers in the back. Front space I cannot say since I have aftermarket struts. One consideration is that there are not too many tires available in 285/35/18. 285/30/18 offers more but you would lose your side wall. Another consideration is the balance. The M3 understeers from the factory, so depending on your set up you may prefer a square over a staggered. |

Running the ARC-8s as noted above with Nitto NT01s and happy so far. No spacers.

I put a set of 275/35-18 Nitto NT-01's on a 9.5/10.5 wheel setup this evening. They are bulgy on the 9.5 and pretty square on the 10.5. They fit like 285's and would be perfect on 10's.
A 275 might sound small for a 10" wide wheel if it was a street tire, but the NT-01 runs really wide. You will have tons of room to the inside with this 275 on the 10 ET25 wheel, and it will completely fill it out. |
