I had a 1968 6.6 Weiand-fed GTO, and then moved on to the 335. I would much rather have the 3er than the GTO as a DD any day.

Under any other circumstance, the GTO won hands down.

Not to mention the fact that the LS1 guys usually know what they're talking about when they talk shop.... Unlike here where anything with a roundel is automatically greater than anything without it.
This is a BMW forum, after all. You'll find this blind loyalty on most other forums as well. Nothing too out of the ordinary...

I dunno man, when I was part of the LS1 community, you could argue that the avg IQ was suspect, but it was readily apparent that they knew about cars.... Here, there seems to be a rash combo of BMW love and ignorance of how an auto works.... There's a difference IMO.

Please just stop talking already. Stock GTO's don't "easily jump into the 12s". There are a HANDFULL of a people who ever went 12s with them stock, and it was under ideal conditions on a well prepped track.

The GTO is faster than the 335i, but lets not get carried away here.

A stock LS2 GTO with slicks, can, and often does climb into 12's. No, not a handful, plenty. If you can drive, have some sticky and an LS2 GTO yes.

I owned an '05 GTO for 3 years and have done about 150 passes at Moroso (at sea level in Palm Beach County) with the damn thing, so PLEASE give it a rest. I was also an active member of the GTO boards where everyone posted their numbers, and I know EXACTLY what they're capable of.

Putting slicks on it will get it into the 12s, but putting slicks on a 335i will also knock 3-4 tenths off the time, so it's stupid to even bring it up. The absolute record for a bone stock LS2 GTO is 12.8, and it was under ideal conditions by a guy who'd been bracket racing for 20 years.

Now enough with your BS.
