M Performance Exhaust

Anyone here has an MPE installed which I can listen to? Been lusting for slightly more oomph in sound. Basically ride along and hear it from the outside and I will buy lunch thanks.

I was in the same boat, but questioned the return on investment for the pricetag....did the oem mod with Zury Fabrications and and quite uappy with the sound and the price vs MPE

I haven't done it yet myself, but I'd be hard for me to justify not doing the OEM exhaust mod (one of a couple variants) vs. spending a 1k or 2k+ on a cat back system. I'd love to hear folks systems with the OEM mod in person.

I guess weight would be the only factor, but the E9x M3 is already a bit of a pig so... lol.

Anyone heard the megan racing cutback?
I'm still not sure if an aftermarket system would be too loud since I do dd my car.
At least the megan system is only $600-700 and it does save some weight.
I was hoping to get a factory muffler from a local poster to attempt one of the oem mods but no replies yet.
I'd be really bummed to blow away over a grand for a muffler only to take it off.
I just can't justify spending more than 3 figures for a muffler!

I had to google up MoCo a few times:

Suburban county of Maryland

One of the few counties where there's a ghetto area (Wheaton, Silver Spring), there's a rich-ass area (Bethesda, Potomac), and the boonies (Damascus, Poolesville) all crammed together.

That's diversity for you.

Sending you a PM now

Which mod do you have, the OEM or ACM?

Anyone else in the area (preferably NoVa) have either? From what I've read the OEM is raspy around 4k and the ACM is loud. I wouldn't mind hearing both in person though.

I have the oem mod, just covered the perforated pipe and had it put back on the car.

I'm in MoCo with the perforated OEM mod. I also had a Megan and prefer the OEM mod hands down. Megan drones heavily, is loud down low and fades away at high rpm. OEM is the exact opposite.

My good friend in SOFL has the MPE. At idle the two exhausts sound similar with a little more bass from the OEM. The MPE has a unique and BA sound especially at high rpm I think due in part to the Inconel. OEM has a faint amount of rasp up top but has a great overall tone.

The only direction I would head from here would be a full system just for the HP. Hope this helps.

I've got an MPE - I live in NW DC and go to the Cars & Coffee in Great Falls a few times a month when the weather is nice.
