Recently Autocar UK testdrove the G63 6x6 in Dubai,

A few pointers from the review;

- The Mercedes G63 AMG 6x6 is tipped to cost £350,000, making it the second most expensive Mercedes road car
- It will be produced on a limited basis at Mercedes-Benz’s Austrian partner Magna Steyr’s operation in Graz
- The 6x6 has six driven wheels, low range gearing, five diff locks and a tyre control system
- The rear wheel arches house compressor tanks for the tyre inflation system
- Mercedes' 7G tranmission is fitted as standard
- Torque is nominally split 30:40:30
- The wheels measure 37in in diameter and are 12.5in wide
- The differential locks offer 100 per cent lock-up of all six wheels
- The G63 AMG 6x6 is 1106mm longer, 225mm wider and 272mm higher than the standard G63 AMG
- Fuel economy is likely to be in the region of 15mpg and production cars will have two fuel tanks

I find myself trying to like this, but I just can't. There is just something wrong with it. The lines aren't quite right with the bed and the whole shape of the car. I think this was just an attempt to standout from the rest (definitely successful in that respect) and all in all I personally would rather the original G-wagon.

The fact that this is actually going to be in production and not a one-off car is pretty awesome. I sincerely hope that the people that buy them do take them off road, though.

Meanwhile on the BMW front, this is all we have to fight back with:
