HR springs
so i recently had hr springs installed on my car. ive driven mabye about 5k miles on them. it was the springs,e36 bump stop etc.
i was gonna originally go coil overs but since i daily it, and dont track it was recommended to me to just go with springs. well now, for some reason, i just feel like the car doesnt ride very well... when i go over a bump or dip on the high per say, the car feels like it bottoms out and then wants to "spring" up.. not to mention i have a vibration on the wheel at 65mph+ will going with coilovers like the kwv3s or hr coilovers correct this? (not the vibration) i just want a solid firm ride, not squishy, or soggy... i almost feel like i gotta go find someone with coils and drive their car before i go drop 2k on some used coilovers.. help please

coils will def fix the problem, I had H&R springs before and switched to KW V3, the ride is so much better, car rides like on rail, no more bumpy feelings..

Kwike,
I've done a ton of research on the ways to properly lower our cars. I've decided that It's between the dinan stg. 1 Or KW V3s. V3s are more expensive, but much more adjustable. I'm not sure I want to lose EDC, as the sport mode is a little rough for me. So I don't want to install KW V3s then have a stiff ride all the time... I'm still unsure though. I'm probably going to go with Dinan, modest drop and performance practical. And it is it's probably perfect for me. I drive to Queens/Manhattan a lot. I drive to NJ a lot. I use my M3 wherever I go. I found myself in some tight spots on saturday... |

Coilovers are always the best option if lowering the car is a goal. Springs should never be considered as an end all solution.
