Jerez Black?
I've ordered my car this colour.
Now I'd like to know what it actually looks like! Has anyone seen a decent sample, and if so, where? Cheers... |

I'm surprised UK dealers don't have color samples. How can they ask customers to order cars without showing them color samples? The best thing I've seen so far is the car configurator on the German BMW website, but that is obviously a digital rendering. I'm thinking about ordering mine Jerez Black as well, but that'll be a '09 model, so I'll get a chance to see it before I buy it. Good luck.

I saw the Gerz Black IRL in Garching. In the dark or shadow it`s black, wen light is shining on it, it is a kind off darkblue, a little more blue in it than Carbon Black.
I saw all collors but the red one. IMO; 1 No Gerez black for me, because the roof doesn`t come out too well. 2 No white, everyone wants wite, now everyone is too much for me. 3 No Interlagos blue, it is definatly to purple in the shadow, in sunlight however it is nice, in the Netherlands we have more clouds than sun, so this is an easy one. 4 No space gray, buy that collor on a 335i. 5 No red, have not seen this one IRL, so can not tell to buy it or not. 6 Yes Silverstone, now this is something else we are talking! For me this is the one.......................... Roof makes perfect match with this collor, only available for M3-5-6, so it`s exclusive M, Fox red leather, 19" ....................yes ready for serious business |

Some had posted a picture of small metal car frames showing off the different colors. Jerez black looked very similiar to carbon black. I noticed it was a bit more blue though. Maybe someone can locate that picture for me.

Im either thinking jerez black, space gray or graphite. I really like black but I dont like how it hides the roof. Kinda torn between graphite and space gray.

I have only seen the images on the BMW teaser site, but to me Jerez looks like it has a greenish hue. I love carbon black (my current M3 is that color), but for me Jerez is out because I do not like the greenish tinge it appears to have.
I am thinking Space or White. |

Silverstone and the other greys will be the most popular colors. White and shades of Black will be the next most popular colors. The Blues and Reds will probably be the rarest. But, isnt this true for just about any car....

I agree the colour chooser with the black background at www.bmw.de makes it look kind of green (which is also not really to my liking).
However the April '07 press release had this to say: Jerez Black, on the other hand, boasts blue pearl pigments to again provide unique highlights and unprecedented appeal. So no mention of any green tinges... and my dealer told me it would be similar to Carbon Black (which I liked a great deal). The virtual dealer at www.bmw.co.za (car is LHD and has German number plates!) gives you larger images on a white background and it certainly seems more blue than green to me: Last edited by 13eastie; 05-31-2007 at 06:10 PM.. |

Well as the fortunate owner of a Carbon Black car i can't wait for Jerez Black to arrive, honestly if it does have a slight tinge of green in it, that would be great!

Okay, at the risk of getting slightly obsessive about this, I did a very basic analysis of the Jerez Black image on the German configurator...
I reckon a representative RGB code would be 7,8,13 Definitely blue - I'm not going to worry about it. I hope mine is the first one I see. Can't wait. |

I have carbon black on my 05 ZCP and dont really care for it. They should really call it midnight blue not black. It only looks black in the dark, midnight the rest of the time. I prefer a deep, flat black that contrasts with the silver\chrome trim, etc. Just an FYI.
