The holes on the VAC unit did not match the bracket for the halon unit I got from Jegs. Be prepared to drill holes.

I am using the VAC mount as well. Fitment was spot on with respect to the seat bolts but you will likely have to drill at least one hole for the extinguisher mount. The bracket for the extinguisher I bought from VAC didn't even match up. It took me literally 30 seconds to drill the hole so it's no big deal.

I still used the VAC. I just had to drill one hole. My bracket needed two holes, so I could get one to line up.

Here you go: http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E82-135...3.0l/ES255516/

It's metal2metal and passes tech inspection with all major clubs. If you go down this route, the installation/drilling instructions and compatible extinguishers are posted either here or e90post.

I also have the ECStuning mount and I like it. I took a little figuring how to mount it but when I did figure how it was no problem and mount and fit well. I used a standard fire extinguisher mount that came with a 2 1/2 lb Purple K extinguisher and had to file one hole a little to get things lined up. Because of the horizontal mounting, add a second strap to keep the extinguisher from drooping. Place I bought the extinguisher from gave me one, no charge. When all was mounted with the nozzle pointed down the handle just brushed my calf. So I cut off the part of the extinguisher mount that is used to hang it vertical, because it is mounted horizontal and not needed, then was able to turn the extinguisher slightly in the mount for more clearance. If you drill out the rivets that hold the straps in place the clips can be rotated further up and easier to get to.

And don't get a ABC extinguisher. Get a good BC or Purple K one, like the VAC one. If you ever have to use it ABC makes a mess, it just won't clean up and it is corrosive.

Maybe you should think about getting a really big extinguisher:
