Sounds good. Who sells the them? I would pay up to $2500 for a powertrain-only warranty for around 3 years.

Easycare http://www.easycare.com/

I purchased through the dealer when I got my DCT, so can't comment on dealing with them direct. Came highly recommended by dealership personnel and some others I've spoken with.

I did it only because it's simply piece of mind. I don't anticipate on having to use it but I figure like most things, it's better to have it and not need it than...

I guess if I had money coming out of my ears I would just chance it without. I can afford a $250 deductible every day and twice on Sunday but something in the 4 figure range? Not so much.

Unless you're swimming in money def get the extended warranty. With few known issues these cars have the repair bill can add up quick! Plus don't forget all the suspension parts that most high end warranties cover. they usually will pay for towing, rental reimbursement and more. I would never buy a $70K car without some protection.

Just for shits and giggles, take a look at one of your in service invoices. Then you can see what the repair bills will look like.

I too am on the fence. Similar situation to OP - mine expires early next year. In my case I've experienced a nasty engine issue with the significant other's 335i. Sure diff motor but in that case 6 injectors cost nearly what an extended warranty costs. So let's say that happens with our motor? Or the nonsense with the bolt issue and it's not a recall by then. Or the DTC gets stupid. Then what? Copay is one thing, but a full on payout would kill me. Thing is I can't afford the $5k right now anyhow as I'm between jobs so I'll keep shopping these. Keep up the chat - would love to hear more.

My warranty expires in about 10 days! lol
They quoted me 5700$ in Canada for the BMW certified extended warranty program.

I don't think I'll do it.
