We don't know what the GTS will be capable of yet. But the Viper is not an easy car to drive fast. The ACR even more so. I'll stick my neck out and say that for most of us the M3 could very well be a faster car around a track. But for someone who can drive the Viper to its full extent then game over for the M3 GTS.

Cheers.

Hell a Viper is not an easy car to drive period!!!! Car fanatic buddy of mine with a shit load of cash bought a 2008 SRT-10 (Viper) sold it 2 months later and bought an M3. Said it was too difficult to drive. He also owns a 2009 M6, Ferrari 430 and a 2009 Porsche 996/7 Turbo. So the guy does know how to drive....... I would assume

The Viper will beat the GTS for sure, but the GTS is a lot more fun to drive than the ACR

I've only known a couple of Viper owners and both of them became quite bored with the car rather quickly. It's a very simple car in terms of drivability. It beats the crap out of you, gets hot in the cabin, and doesn't have much to enjoy beyond the basic car qualities. One of them even said that he takes it out for maybe an hour a week maximum. That was about all he could take before he would stick it back in the garage. Still looks pretty damn good almost 20 years later though.

ACR "should" win......however most Viper drivers I find on track are what I like to call "checkbook" racers...they cut a fat check for a seriously quick car and are NOT good drivers.....a good driver will beat a fast car every time.....

For example my bucket racer that I built for 24 hours of Lemons (under $500) caught a 2008 Viper ACR at a trackday....our lap times were very similar.....I even have video proof

the car just in front of the yellow vette is the viper.....classic battle between better braking-handling car vs the POWER of the viper....my bucket is an 84 Porsche 928 automatic....basically a "gut and go" racer...complete with open diff!!!

I consider myself a good driver, but by no means excellent....I have friends that can best my times by 2-3 seconds a lap in the same car....

Bottom line is the better driver-better prepared car (for the track THAT day) will win

I am here to basically compare car vs car, not drive vs driver.

So with a professional driver in each car, which would be faster?

Pretty pointless comparison since the GTS will not make it to U.S. If you have 2 average joe drivers the M3 will spank that vipers ass

AWESOME Video man! Impressive left to right turn midwayish into the track as the elevation goes up.
