Loaded but no EDC..
And no comp package, obviously (which I wanted badly because I like the wheel style).
But, it has everything else (including the 19" 220 wheels) The price is a tad more than I want to spend, but it's better than most. My question is about the non-EDC suspension. Good enough? I think I already know the answer (it is). Probably not worth waiting around for an EDC car, considering I likely won't play with the settings much. Thanks. |

What year is this car? I think EDC became standard at one point but I am not sure.

Dynamic Damper Control was never standard. Go to BMWusa.com and configure an E93 -- it's still a $1000 option. Everyone has a different opinion on the adjustable damping. Purists don't like it because it can actually reduce feedback when driving hard, and because it's worthless once you modify the suspension. I like having it since it allows me to get a decent ride on city roads but still firm things up for a track. My advice is to just wait for the car you really want. If that means a car with ZCP, then just hold tight until one pops up. (or buy the wheels later, but for that kind of money you may as well just get a factory ZCP)

I've been looking hard, and considering the options, that price isn't too far off. Nice car^, but more than I want to spend, and a couple of those mods aren't something I'd like. |

Well im not selling my car but for example, mines a 2011, DCT ZCP 15,000 miles and is pretty much loaded, its got brand new tires, Dinan intake, pulley, EAS paddles, BPM Tune,DCT,Coding, OEM CF spoiler 77k MSRP before mods and if i where to sell it ,it would probably be around 50/51k.

If you mod, don't bother with EDC. Coilovers are way better anyways. Much more comfortable on the street and you can dial them up for the track.

The EDC is supposed to be dynamic, which supposedly keeps the car more balanced during breaking. The thing is cars equipped with this option have not posted better lap times. This makes me think EDC doesn't do much. I have it on my M3 and I use it to soften the ride at certain times but I don't think i'd miss it.
BTW: I also liked the ZCP wheels so I bought a set used on here, they don't go for that much. My car came with gunmetal 219s and I sold those on here for what I felt was a decent amount compared to what I bought the ZCPs for. |

for a daily, I use my edc on a daily basis. there are certain roads on my commute where I drive much more aggressive than others. its much harsher than on comfort mode which is nice at times

Really? Coils are more comfortable on the street? Coils ruin this car for the street unless you live in a town where the roads are made out of marshmallows.

Not true at all. My kw v3's and my ohlins are far more compliant even on horrible roads than stock. They do a much better job absorbing harsh bumps. Stock wouldn't compress and rebound fast enough so the tires would often leave the ground in any edc setting.

Wow dude, I live in the Appalachian mountains and our roads get pretty cratered from harsh winters, but I have never hit anything like you are describing, where are you driving? The moon?

Of course, almost no one drives these cars to their full potential, so a bare bone car w/o ZCP in the hands of a good driver will be just fine! Happy hunting! |

I love having comfort mode for daily commutes and rough roads.. makes a huge difference - and then 'normal' for spirited driving

It's not something you notice until you upgrade. I was happy with EDC until I swapped. Instantly felt the difference. Bottom line is a good coil over setup will reduce body roll as well as absorb bumps much better than EDC.
