D1S headlight opinions wanted

I'm looking to change out all my existing lighting in the car, and have so far decided on the following;

1. OSS interior LED lights (replacing the Bimmian ones I have already)
2. LUX H8 angel eyes
3. D1S ????k

What would most of you guys choose as your D1S replacement, 6000K or 8000K?

As well, does anyone have any clear pics of the different set ups?

I wouldnt touch the stock d1s, your only going to loose output by going up in temp. I find our projectors mediocre at best and once you move above 4500k ish your going to start loosing more light output. If you 'must' change the bulb 5k is as high as I would go.

u already know my opinion: 6k
i think 8k makes this car looks rice, and u sacrifice too much output, not worth it, attracts too much attention.

Nick,

Im not sure if you remember but I did 6k at first because I didnt want too much, but it wasnt a noticable enough difference for me. So I swapped for 8k, and I couldnt be happier.

All my buddies have done 8k and we are all very pleased with the results.
I will try to find some more images.
heres a few though... I will try to find more pics as both my buddies with the 997TT have 8k headlights and 8k foglights.
The range rover below also has 8k headlights and fogs.

As unclear as the 1st pic below is, it really shows the color difference between 8000 and 6000k. Passenger side headlight is 8000k, driver headlight is 6000k.

the 8k's look good there, maybe ill try them out then, and see if i like it, the reason i never did it was cause at night i find it looks mad blue...

Thanks, Dave. Looks good, but I don't want it to look too blue at night.

Weird man, there is a Range down in my neighborhood owned by one shady ass dude, that looks EXACTLY like that one. I know it is probably just coincidence but since this guy is shady makes me wonder. He said he had a TT Gallardo but I don't believe him at all. Sorry for the thread jack.

6000k IMO, 8000k is way too aqua but 6000k is a nice pure white output.

is that image supposed to look like driver side is 4k and passenger is the 6k? or is that 6k in both ?

I think 8000k is too blue.

6000k is a nice contrast from everyone else, and it still makes it easy to see without putting too much strain on your eyes, and also without loosing too much light

Thanks for all your replies, I just ordered the 6K's. I definitely don't want them to stand out too much, just a subtle change over stock.

Can't wait to get them.

mike, could u pm me ur best price including shipping, ie total cost of having my headlights oss'd...what all does this include, just led angels, or new d1s as well?
could you also light smoke them and change out the py24w or delete it or something.
