Enjoy; drive the hell out of it and get it to a track!

Track day coming up on march 15 can't wait.

I was scared for the same reason for a while but then I talked to a couple people and as long as you don't take it to dealer to do your brakes it's not bad. Many places now where you can buy replacement parts for it cheaper.

Parts are not necessarily that much more, it is mainly the labor costs. You have to find a good shop to do your work. I would not take a GT-R to just any shop and have them mess it up.

Working on M3s brakes is very simple, and most ppl can DIY, how about GTR?

Brakes on most cars are pretty straight forward. Some are harder to work on than others but if you've worked on one, it isn't hard to figure out the others.

I will say Japanese cars are way easier to work on than any European cars. They make servicing easy.

I agree. And what makes it even more ironic is that this specific BMW that we're talking about isn't even the rarest or most expensive top of the line car in the factory line up. The M3 is based on the 3 series platform, which is the cheap mass produced entry level BMW in the lineup. A 3 series is a dime a dozen and anyone can go and lease one for a few hundred bucks a month. Even more, the M3 is mass produced on the same assembly line with the same machines that make a regular 3 series.
Contrast that with a GTR which is a proper bespoke supercar. Everything about a GTR bumper to bumper is unique and bespoke. Almost nothing on the car is shared with any other Nissan. The engine and gearbox are handmade by one technician in a sterile environment.

I'm willing to bet there isn't anyone on Nagtroc at the moment thinking "Damn, I wish I had an M3!". In fact, I doubt anyone at Nagtroc is thinking "Can I floor the throttle now or will that damage my rod bearings"

I am 80% sure some people on this forum would genuinely decline to buy one just because of the Nissan badge on the hood.

+1. I think most of those remarks were in jest. this certainly isn't the first M3 owner that has moved on to a GT-R.

OP - amazing machine. congrats and enjoy in good health. I hope to have one of these in my garage someday.

Today was a nice day and it was the first time I got to really drive it and that is what I'd did. I put 250 miles on it today just driving it on highways, and small streets with as many turns as I could find.
I have to say this car will get you in trouble quick. I say that because you have to control yourself and not floor it every time you see an open stretch. I did 155 mph couple times today and it takes no time to get there. Soooo fast also even though it looks bulky it is so quick around around corners can't wait to take it to track this march.

Agreed ^^^
I have two explanations for you:
1. I think girls call it envy.
2. The unfortunate and known fact that BMW drivers are ...jerks.

Not sure if you still have a stock exhaust, but the HKS Legamax and midpipe sounds pretty good. Not the growl of the V8 M3 though

+1 to it being more unusual

In both NY and NC, I have seen 4 EVER. I currently park next to an M3 in the parking lots at both my jobs...
