What a beautiful M3!!! Pardon my ignorance....whats the deal with this shifter? I'm assuming that choosing this shifter, with the drama in the console, is in exchange for the shortest shifts possible....which I'm fine with!! However, banging gears in my other BMWs was a little hindered because of a clutch delay valve. Does this car have a delay valve?

Great question.

Mainly, in terms of benefits to ME, it’s the shifter position being next to the wheel. Also, the shifter assembly is mounted directly to the trans so you get an amazingly precise and very mechanical feel with the shifts… there’s a “positive” feedback. I just love the feel. Never had one issue. Tighter shift pattern and it springs back to center. Definite increase in NVH - can’t be heard with windows down, and I got used to the slight “whir” sound with windows up.

Thanks for the kind words. I’m only interested in selling. No trades, please.
