The A579-S Aerotwin were incorrectly distributed to vendors as for the M3 E92 Coupe, also BOSCH is reviewing why they were incorrectly manufactured with the passenger side two inches too short. The part number that Bosch told me would fit are the following: ICONS: 24OE 18OE Evolutions: 4842 4837 I am guessing this is the correct part number for everyone who has the newer wiper blade assembly. So...anyone have some guidance on what to use for older E92's? I bought the Evolution 4842 and 4837, only to discover I have a different attachment design than the refills. Blurg!

Reviving an old thread since I just did some research into this again. I have the E92 coupe after 09/2009 (mine's 2011).
Bosch is the OEM blade, so you'll need to order Bosch Aerotwins (or buy "OEM" at higher prices for the same blade) The four-door size is different from the two-door (passenger wiper size) They switched the wiper arm attachment mechanism, that's why you'll see BEFORE 09/2009 and AFTER 09/2009 notes in most cases (like at ECS, Amazon). Basically, for older cars you need Bosch Aerotwin 3397007452 Original Equipment Replacement Wiper Blade - 24"/18" (Set of 2) or: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004INLKKE/ note: amazon image is wrong but I have 3397007452 in my hand and they don't fit my 2011. And for newer cars you need Bosch Aerotwin 3397007579 Original Equipment Replacement Wiper Blade - 24"/16" (Set of 2) or https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BITUV10 I bought but haven't received this one yet Now, the passenger OEM blades are 18" and that's what you'll get when you order OEM at ECS, but they're $40 when the Bosch Blades can be had for $25. I have been unable to find an exact replacement pack of two 24/18 for the new Bosch Aerotwin blades, that's why the 24/16 link is up there. The Amazon car-selector and blade "fit" vs "doesn't fit" seems accurate, as does ECS, although they bring up the pre 2009 blades that don't fit as well so be careful there. Basically in a 2011 M3 Coupe you either buy a different blade altogether or get Bosch Aerotwin at 16" passenger side, or buy the OEM packaging at that cost. Oh, and since I'm on the wiper topic: I'm in Texas and I've determined that these wipers last about 18 months before they go really bad (in my opinion). Unfortunately, that rhythm puts me at replacing the wipers when it doesn't rain much, wasting really fresh wipers for several months. So I grudgingly replace ever 12 months now just before rainy season and enjoy fresh wiping :-) Last edited by OldenburgerM3; 10-01-2018 at 04:15 PM.. |
