ugh, that head has given me so much problems. Mind me asking how much the slider was?

I wanted the lightest and smallest head I could get. I've used them before on lightweight rigs and haven't had any problems.
with the all-terrain legs and 35" version with overnight shipping... $950.
head was only $130.
I've used the Kessler pocket dolly a few times but prefer this one.

I want a slider but they are just too expensive and on top of that I want a motorized one for a timelaspe.

Hey rodi,

Looks like you went with a 701 head. I use that same head on my 562B and I love it!!

What's your reason for preferring the Cinevate Atlas over the Kessler CineSlider? I'm on the fence between the two brands since I'm doing some slider shopping, but the Kessler promo vid really has me sold on the Cineslider (with rails located inside for protection, wheel thing for slider smooth pulls -- even though I'm confident in the consistency of my pulls, etc).

Cinevate is releasing one soon that'll work with this.

The consistency of the pulley crank didn't feel right to me. I'm sure someone can get used to that, but I prefer the push. I can see the consistency in that. Eyes and hand on the actual move. not disconnected thru a crank.
And I think this one is lighter. feels like it. if it's not, it's definitely less awkward to carry! Everything stays in place. When I was moving the Kessler around all night, the legs kept loosening up, etc...
And the easy vertical for the Atlas10 is nice.

another gripe with the kessler pocket dolly (noticed while editing just now): when doing a fast slide and not having the time to remove the crank, it shakes the whole shot. fail.
