wheel locks (RAD wheel locks) question

Just purchased a 09 m3 coupe and wanted to get a set of wheel locks. I searched and found the RAD wheel locks to be recommended. This might be a stupid question but why do sites carry these in a set of 4 wheel locks...each wheel has 5 lugnuts on it, wouldnt I want to buy 4 sets of 5? I'm confused.

Yes ^^^ this ... and a good car alarm system also whenever possible park close (very close) to a wall in public parking garages. Doing so prevents thieves from stealing all 4 wheels since they cannot remove them all they will attack another car.

I always park close to a wall in public parking lots even at airports. Often I go up or down extra levels to do it.

If you don't do it you may find your car like this ===>CLICK to see a Photo

what makes RAD so much better than OEM? I'm looking at pics of them, and they appear to be functionally the same. Is the pattern harder to "jerry-rig" and defeat?

All wheel locks can be manipulated off just using a socket a size smaller and hammering it on to the bolt...just makes it harder and time consuming so theives move on to easier prey.

For $40 the RADs are the way to go.

Couldn't you do that to the RADs, too?

Sorry OP this made me lol a bit. Yes 1 per wheel not unless you want to replace all 5 lugs with the locks then yeah go ahead and buy 4 sets of them.

Same quality (RAD manufactures lugs for Mercedes), and the availability of more key profiles that aren't simply available at every BMW dealership or by someone that own as Master lock set for BMW locks.

Locks simply work as a deterrent, making thieves move to easier targets. If an experienced thief wants your wheels, he will take them.

Nice I-trader score. Haven't seen many negative numbers.
