I did not buy the BMW one because BMW is printed on it. Not cool if you are trying to draw attention away from the car...

As for my car cover, I sourced it from BMW. It's the NOAH version, and I received it for free along with some other items when I purchased my M3. I recommend it. It's breathable, easy to manage, and the fitment is great. |

My experiences in the past with car cover is that the "breathable" functionality of the covers defeat the water proof properties of the covers. So after detailing the car, put the cover on, it rains, next morning, cover comes off and the moisture is trapped under the cover. Thoughts??

Good deal. Thanks! Is the BMW cover specifically for the M3 or just a 3 Series? Part Number??

It's a double edge sword when covering up your car outside. I had a buddy watch my black Saab while I was deployed for 5 months and within a week he ended up taking the cover of my car because the dust, sand, and wind was chaffing the paint under the cover. Now, I was in Las Vegas, but the cover was form fitted, snug, and still dust and crap got underneath and started to scratch the paint. Depending on where you live, I'd probebly wash and wax it every week even if it's covered. Long term, I'd try to store it in a trustworthy friend, family members garage and cover it up.
I keep mine in my garage covered but my garage gets a bit humid as I'm in England and it rains allot and it's cold out now. So I still take it out on the weekends for a wash/wax. |

Eurotrash...I am out of town prolonged and my car is covered. I got a custom fit cover 100% breathable and in custom colors for my car from www.luxurycovers.com Mine was top of the line materials full outercover/weather resistant and was aprox $270. Multiple colors and it is also seamless. Took 1 week to manufacture for my M3 coupe. Have been gone for 1 month and my wife took the cover off to check and start the car and all was flawless, pain in good conditon...no dust what so ever. Check em out.

I have the OEM cover for my Porsche, which is really just a Silverguard. For outdoor use, it's my favorite cover material. You have to make sure the car is clean (as with any cover), but it holds up a lot better outdoors than normal fabric. Other covers I've used start to break down after a little while. I've been using this cover for years and it still looks like new. Plus I can just throw it in the washing machine every few weeks to clean it. I've just ordered a new Silverguard Plus cover for the M3 (same as Silverguard but with some soft fabric on the inside to better protect against scratches).

I have two covers from Coverking.com, an Autobody Armor cover for hard core protection in harsh conditions and a Silverguard for everyday use, it's light, small and even cheaper thru Costco.com. Also look at the Coverking Stormproof.
The AA cover is too heavy to carry in the trunk and use regularly. Both are very good, few seams and well made. Check into Covercraft's Weathershield, though it has more seams and is coated. I like the woven covers better than the poly spun "fabrics" like Noah, they can be bulky and cumbersome. Wish I had more garage space, the best solution. |
