An Interesting Tire Fitment Question

So as the night time temp starts to drop into the 40s i can not help but wonder what I am going to do for the winter. I am currently running my Volk G2 on Hankook Ventus Evo V12, they are 275/30/19 up front and 305/30/19 in the rear. I am planning on moving onto the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3. I have heard great stuff about these tires, some even go as far as saying they perform better than some summer tires. I have run both all-season set ups and dedicated summer/winter set ups and I honestly think for the types of winters we have been getting I will be ok with all-seasons.

So the question is what sizes will I get away with to get the tallest side wall to protect my wheels and get more tire to the ground?

I will be lowering the car on Eibach Pro Kits, they have a very conservative 0.8 in front and 0.6 in rear drop, thats all I need.

I am thinking 265/35/19 up front and 285/35/19 in the rear if it will fit.

You should be fine with the 285-35-19 rears but Id drop the front down to a 255-35-19. I think the 265s with the 35 profile could rub depending on the width and offset of your wheel.

The Michelin PSAS3 will likely outperform the tires you currently have...in the dry. At the launch event, Michelin was comparing the PSAS3 against the Continental DW (and a couple of other "summer" performance tires) in a dry track event and the PSAS3 was winning. It's no doubt that they have created the best dry and wet performing all-season tire. I guess what remains to be seen is how well they perform in the snow versus other ultra-high-performance all-season tires.

From everything I've read, trying to run the 265/35-19 up front will result in rub, not due to width but diameter. Pick the 255/35-19 as just mentioned by tommy44gt. You might consider the 275/35-19 in the rear also for similar reasons.

Wheels are Volk G2 with a 22 offset up front and 25 offset in the rear, I want to also use wider tires to minimize stretch to protect the tire
